BREAKING NEWS FROM 'SHIPS COMPUTER DIVINA

Today at ArtSpace, the Satellites have been busy developing and rehearsing their show for Come on Down, which takes place on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd December this year.

For those of you who don’t know, Comet Tales is an adventure in space where new worlds collide. Here is a little something to tickle your taste buds:

~ Stardate 5239 ~
“We voyage to the galaxy named Farfaraway powered by the starlight in our dreams, exploring new worlds on a mission to discover a beautiful space, past the seventh star, beyond the universe we know - to the universe we've yet to explore, beyond even the reach of the TARDIS, in our search for the place where you can be who you are and get back to tell the tale.”

We asked Tim, Captain of the ‘ship, how we could best describe Comet Tales. He said “it’s about a group of people from different backgrounds who become good friends despite their differences… it’s a bit like being at Headway Arts really!”

During their rehearsals today, the Satellites have been working specifically on the production, re-writing and adding some new scenes and characters since it was first performed at the Together North East Festival in June. This means it is going to be bigger, better and more sparkly than ever.

Intrigued..?

If the answer is yes, then drop us an email or give us a ring to let us know you’d like to be part of the audience at Come on Down. We have a whole host of performances, as well as workshops days and even a winter ball.

If you’re inspired by Comet Tales or simply have a performance you’d like to share, this year’s theme is adventure. Performances must be original and no longer than 30 minutes.

If you can’t make it to Come on Down to see Comet Tales, there will be more performances in the area so keep your eyes peeled! It may just be touching down at a venue near you.

Until next time, don’t forget to add your own instalment to this year’s Come on Down blog. Send it to us at admin@headwayarts.co.uk.

Over & Out.

Help us to feed community spirit at The Big Lunch on Tuesday 9th June

We'd like to invite you to our Big Lunch event on Tuesday 9th June at Headway ArtSpace.
After the great success of our European Lunch last year, we felt it would be great to get our local community together for some good food and good company. The Big Lunch will be a great opportunity to network and meet new people living and working in Blyth. And maybe we can come up with some ideas of how we tackle some of the challenges that our community faces!
All you have to do is bring some food (and some friends) to share from 1.00 – 2.30 pm.
We hope to see you there!
